Rising News – Fall 2020

Over the past months, we have been fortunate to have received so much good will, generosity and kind support from so many neighbors and community friends. Your help is affirming to us that you value our Mission and the quality and service of our food and baked goods. Without the contributions you and so many of your friends have made, Reality Kitchen Nonprofit would not have been able to reopen our doors and continue operations. For that, and so much more, we are very grateful and thank you, so much! Every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 am until 3 pm you can get your bread and pastries and other baked goodies, as well as our food menu.

The donations we received from ReMax Integrity Foundation and Thabet Investments allowed us to find a professional deep cleaning service, CleanMex Inc. to clean and sanitize our entire facility. This was important to assure our staff and customers a safe work environment for us to begin returning back to production and employment.

Also during this time, we were so grateful to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to our neighborhood and the larger community, as well as our Mission by so many individual donors, organizations and funding sources ! These included a significant grant from the Oregon Community Foundation to support our curriculum development and the salary for a Program Assistant.

We are also grateful for the near daily efforts of our Board of Directors and our friends at Banner Bank who did so much to help us qualify for the Federal Payroll Protection Program funds. Thanks to the work of many committed volunteers and community supporters, we were able to reopen our front cafe on a limited schedule with our Hard Times Menu.

Unfortunately, we lost most of our wholesale accounts, partially because they needed to go elsewhere during our closure. Some have not reopened and many are not able to predict what their sales will be from day to day and week to week, making it difficult to return our baking staff to full time employment.

We are so very grateful to those businesses who have remained with us and all our loyal and dedicated customers, neighbors and friends who have continued to support our efforts to remaining open. We know we all can make it through this time, as long as we remain focused on doing this together!

We will continue to do our best to help those who need it the most.

A perfect example of the power of many committed visionaries coming together as one to make all the difference to a local nonprofit organization in times of need is how members of the Impact Club of Eugene have stepped up to help us to fund the development of software we need to deliver our curriculum online

A heartfelt thanks to Robert Grand and each and every one of the individual members of the Impact Club of Eugene and their ongoing support of our community.

We are so grateful to Lori Galvin for her kind and ongoing commitment to our organization and the generous support of the ReMax Integrity Foundation. The sales team members pool their monies to fund many organizations each year and show what it means to be Building Community

With this donation we are able to install a covered roof over the front of our cafe to offer our customers year round outdoor seating, as well as supporting our Employment Path Program !

Your help, today, is important to our long term well being:

Now is the time we are asking you to become a sustaining Friend of Reality Kitchen by offering a recurring monthly donation that will build a foundation now to carry us through these days and into the future.

Your recurring monthly donation beginning at $10, $25, or more if you can, will make all the difference in how we are able to respond to this time, together.

Thank you for your consideration and support of our Mission !
